Meal Planning Monday (3rd November 2014)

Good morning. The sky is blue and the sun is shining, always makes Monday seem better doesn’t it? We’re getting back to normality today after the half-term break. I never realise how much I NEED routine until it’s taken away from me. I love having the children here but I won’t lie, I enjoy my days when they are back at school! Feels like a never ending round of food, drinks and tidying up when they are here.

This weeks meal plan sees us eating some leftovers. We had a Halloween/Bonfire Party at the weekend and obviously I always make too much food, but it won’t be wasted. Today I am scraping out the insides of leftover jacket spuds for a pie – I feel very frugal and satisfied with myself. I’d planned to do a potato pie last week and it got shelved, I’m glad it did now! Going to do a bit of baking this week too, though since having no jobs we’ve done a lot of cake eating. Redundancy is make me fat(ter!)

Here’s the meal plan this week

Cheese, onion & potato pie
Toad in the Hole
Chilli con carne and rice
Fish’n’chips (homemade, maybe…)
Lamb rogan josh

Also eating out Friday night in Birmingham and am super excited to be trying somewhere new with friends.

A few people asked last week about the steak pie. It is indeed amazing and I’ve blogged the recipe in the past. You can read it here. Apologies for messy format, it’s one I’ve not tidied up since I moved the blog from Blogger to WordPress.
