Meal Planning Monday (2nd March 2015)

Morning all, March already? How did that creep up on us?

Apologies for my absence, not just from Meal Planning Monday but blogging in general. I did a tiny catch up yesterday which you can read here. I have no excuse really, I’ve not been too busy I just didn’t have it in me to blog. All my life issues seem to be heading towards a resolution though so I am hopeful that I am going to get back on track.

A good sign that things are starting to go my way is that I woke up yesterday with all the motivation in the world to diet and get fit! Started Sunday off with a 45min workout, charged up the Fitbit and embarked on some healthy eating and calorie counting with My Fitness Pal. I’ve tried various ways of losing weight in the past and I do find My Fitness Pal a really handy tool. I have 20lbs to shift, so here goes!

That means that this week my own meal plan is going to be a bit random. The rest of the family are eating normally but I like to kick start a diet with some healthy ready meals – it really helps me to get my portion sizes back into perspective whilst I am retraining my mind. Marks and Spencers are my fav, so tasty and I always do a pile of veg with them too. Ready meals are against everything I believe but in this case, I find them productive!

The meal plan for the week,

Grilled Thai salmon, with steamed veggies (and rice for the others)
Macaroni cheese and garlic bread
Soup and baguettes (not sure what yet I’ll make yet, I’ll skip the bread!)
Chicken caesar salad
Chilli con carne
Spaghetti bolognese

  1. Glad to see you back to blogging and meal planning. Good luck with the weight loss, I actually think the ready meal thing is a good idea to get portion size perspective x

  2. Don’t feel guilty about ready meals, I try not too and if they help give perspective on other areas of your life or allow you a little breathing space then its no harm done 🙂

    Also blogging can take a lot out of you, its both a release and a chore at times as long as you still enjoy it that’s the main thing? I’ve found the last few months a bit hard going but hopefully the lighter evenings will surely boost our moods x

  3. Welcome back, hope things are on the up! If you are looking for healthy ready meal ideas, you should try the new Slimming World ones available from Iceland. All syn free, good portions and the best bit is the recipe is on the back so if you really like it you can recreate it at home x

  4. Not really into blogging here either – the name is causing chaos at home and so I’ve decided to partly pull a plug. I may be back in a different format or not at all – jsut don’t know if I can be bothered!

    Thursday – Chicken Kebabs and Rice (I’m thinking Satay!) NEW RECIPE TRY OUT
    Friday – Steak and Chips
    Saturday – Nachos and Wraps
    Sunday – Italian Roast Chicken with Italian Roast Potatoes ( another Fay Ripley recipe NEW RECIPE TRY OUT
