What I am reading in 2019

I’ve really been behind in my reading over the past year or two. Over the past year life has been busy (think divorce, house move, full-time work…) and I’m not sure I have had the mental strength at the end of the day to do anything other than binge-watch rubbish on Netflix but I am determined to get myself lost in books again, I even bought myself a new Kindle last year to spur me on.

Escapism is good!

I have always loved seeing what other people are reading, it has quite often informed my own purchases and introduced me to new authors and subjects so today I thought I’d share what is on my reading list this year. It might also help guilt me into actually reading all of these and stop watching Friends on repeat…

The Time Traveller’s Guide to Medieval England: A Handbook for Visitors to the Fourteenth Century
by Ian Mortimer

The Legacy
by Jill Rowan

Feel The Fear and Do It Anyway: How to Turn Your Fear and Indecision into Confidence and Action
by Susan Jeffers

I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts On Being a Woman
by Nora Ephron

Everyday Sexism
by Laura Bates

Wild: A Journey From Lost To Found
by Cheryl Strayed

My Sister’s Secret
by Tracy Buchanan

Watching The English: The Hidden Rules of English Behaviour
by Kate Fox

The Quiet Earth
by Elizabeth Harris

Quite an eclectic mix I admit. I’m not one to stick to one genre when it comes to books. Or music, films and TV programmes for that matter, I like to delve into all sorts.

All of these are either sitting on my bookshelves or loaded onto my Kindle ready to go, I just need to get my head into the right space now.

I’d be interested to hear if you’ve read any of the above – or if you’ve got your own reading list, let me know (so I can add to mine no doubt!)
